National Burger Awards 2017 finalists announced

The 16 finalists for the National Burger Awards 2017 have been announced, after hundreds of operations from around the UK submitted their recipes for the competition.

Restaurants, pubs, bars, hotels and street food traders entered online with their signature burger recipes. The entries were then judged and the selected 16 will now compete in the live final at the Islington Metal Works in London on Wednesday 22 February 2017.

The chefs will compete for four awards on the night, which will be decided by a team of distinguished judges. The Signature Round will see chefs cook their own burger recipe with their own ingredients, followed by the Technical Round, where finalists will create a burger using a selection of ingredients supplied to them. Finally, finalists will also be faced with the challenge of creating a burger from the Booker Mystery Box.

In an awards ceremony in the evening, hosted by DJ BBQ, the Overall Winner of the day will be announced and awarded a prize of £1,000.
