The deadline for entries for the National Pizza Awards has been extended to 1 September.
This gives potential finalists – from the world of pubs, bars, casual dining, hotels and cafés – an extra week to get their entries in following a busy summer in the trade.
The finals and the awards ceremony will be held once again at the Islington Metal Works in London on Tuesday 3 October. During the day, 16 finalists will compete to claim the trophy and the prize of £1,000 that comes with it. They will recreate their Signature Pizza for the judges, followed by a Technical Round where they will make a pizza using ingredients supplied on the day.
The judging panel includes Nikki and Rich Cooper, founders of Stable Pizza; Nabil Mankarious, managing director of Fulham Shore; food and drink author Fiona Sims; and Luigi Forte, executive chef at Barworks and the winner in 2016’s inaugural competition.
The awards ceremony will be hosted by the BBC’s Nigel Barden.
The closing date for trade entries is Friday 1 September 2017. For more information and to enter the Awards, visit nationalpizzaawards.co.uk.
