The Dairy co-founder Matt Wells has launched a crowdfunding campaign on Seedrs to raise £75,000 to go towards fitting out the latest Dandy site in London Bridge.
More than 65% had been raised in the first morning on Tuesday 27 November.
Rewards include dinner parties, wine tastings and launch party invitations for anyone who investors from £100 to £10,000. All investors receive a Dandy loyalty card, entitling them to off-menu dishes and discounts.
Wells (pictured left) is also behind Counter Culture and Knife Steakhouse, and recently backed 24 The Oval.
Wells has teamed up with chef Dan Wilson (pictured right) for the third Dandy, drawing on British seasonality and inspired by European and British culture.
“Bermondsey is an incredible lively hub, buzzing with innovation and creativity,” says Wells. “It offers both established restaurants and new concepts and is the ideal spot for Dan’s seasonally-driven, comforting dishes. We’re dedicated to great beer, so it seemed the perfect fit, and we’ll be making the most of our location on the ‘beer mile’ by partnering with our neighbouring brewers, with fledgling plans to open our own in late 2019.”
Wilson adds: “Dandy the original was in a driveway in London Fields. It was bootleg and it was beautiful, but it was always a temporary spot. The journey to Dandy ‘3.0’ has been an incredible one. I can’t wait to bring that original Dandy spirit to London Bridge and finally open the doors to a permanent site.”
