Gordon Ramsay Restaurants is opening a new concept called Lucky Cat in Mayfair to replace Maze, which closes tomorrow (2 February).
Set to open in Grosvenor Square this summer, Lucky Cat will be an Asian eating house and late-night lounge, inspired by the drinking dens of 1930s Tokyo.
Ben Orpwood, who has been executive chef of Maze since joining the group in January 2018, remains to lead the team of chefs at Lucky Cat. He has also held the role of executive chef at Sexy Fish and spent six years at Zuma.
The interior design has been curated by AfroditiKrassa, which has worked with Ramsay and the team on the new concept.
“I can’t wait to open the doors at Lucky Cat and bring a new flavour of Asian food and culture to Mayfair,” says Ramsay. “I can honestly say there will not be a bad seat in the house – every table will have a unique view and each guest will come away having experienced something sensational –whether it be the phenomenal menu, the amazing service or the stunning look and feel. maze leaves large shoes for us to fill, but I have no doubt Lucky Cat will more than step up to the plate.”
