Still time to enter street food competition

The entry deadline for the inaugural StrEAT Food Challenge has been extended by one week, so there is still time to win a free Boxpark unit and £1,000.

The StrEAT Food Challenge is a brand new competition for 2019, looking for entries from casual dining operators, quick service restaurants and market traders, in order to find the best street food currently being served up in the UK.

Enter with the dish that your customers rave about most and you could be cooking it alongside fellow street food pioneers at the live final on Wednesday 8 May in London, with the chance of winning Street Food Dish of the Year, the prize money and a week of free trading at Boxpark Shoreditch or Croydon.

Successful finalists will also get to show off their technical skill and creative prowess to judges with a Technical Round, which will see them take on a selection of ingredients provided by the event’s sponsors. There’s also a Wings Round, sponsored by Frank’s Hot Sauce, and the It’s A Wrap Round, sponsored by Major.

Entries for the StrEAT Food Challenge now close on Friday 22 March. Chefs and operators can enter at

The StrEAT Food Challenge is sponsored by Ajinomoto, Bewley’s, Electrolux Professional, Farm Frites, Frank’s Hot Sauce, Love Joes, Major and Planglow.
