Guests judge water by its cover, finds new research

New research from EauVation has found that people would prefer to be served water in a glass bottle than a jug when visiting a restaurant.

More than 70% of diners opted for the glass bottle, but plastic is a big no-no, with 78% saying that they would opt for freshly purified water that has been filtered on-site, over single-use plastic bottles.

“A number of consumers highlighted that a meal experience can be dramatically altered by the quality of water,” says EauVation marketing manager Adam Lenton. “They want to be sustainable but also want good quality water – one gentleman cited that he finds it staggering that top-class establishments are happy to undermine their own wonderful cuisine by the taste of chemicals in the tap water they serve.”
