Another US restaurant brand is flying across the pond to launch in the UK, opening in Oxford Circus this autumn.
Sweet Chick was founded in Brooklyn in 2013 by restaurateur John Seymour, with backing from rapper Nas, and serves American comfort food.
On offer in the UK outpost will be fried chicken, which is brined overnight in a sweet tea-stained brine, and waffles, as well as southern-inspired classics such as biscuits and gravy, shrimp and grits and mac and cheese.
Drinks include cocktails and local beers from London Fields Brewery.
“I can’t wait to bring the Sweet Chick community to the UK,” says Seymour. “The food scene is massive in London, but we hope we can offer something fresh with our take on southern inspired staples and the best fried chicken and waffles this side of the Atlantic.”
