Cyrus Todiwala is opening a new restaurant – his first outside London.
Tandem is expected to open at Highcross in Leicester in late August and, like Todiwala’s other four restaurants, will focus on Indian cooking techniques using primarily British produce, alongside cocktails.
The 150-cover restaurant and bar will be located within a Grade II listed building with an interior inspired by Portugal and Goa. It will be split into five distinct spaces to allow for an intimate experience, including a chef’s tables and rooftop terrace.
“I have always wanted to expand my restaurants outside of London with Tandem having been in the pipeline for a long time and I’m thrilled to bring the vision to life in Leicester,” says Todiwala. “The foodie scene in Leicester is taking flight and we’re excited to launch Tandem in such an exciting and vibrant city.
“Tandem is an exciting concept which offers something different to my other restaurants but takes inspiration from what we know our customers love,” he continues. “It was important to me to fully showcase the beauty of Indian cuisine by using traditional cooking techniques and influences from my personal experience.”
